Last Field Performance

It was another last for our Senior. She has marched her heart out for four years and tonight was no exception. Her last halftime performance with the Hickman High School Marching Band was one for the ages. The standing ovation at the end said it all. There were tears from her and Andy and me too. Way to finish strong, Laura! Hold tight to the memories and march on through life. There is so much more to come. We love you, Red.

Fall Band Concert

It was the first band concert of the year this evening.

All the bands did a great job. John is in Symphonic Band though he was hidden in the back, so you cannot see him in any of the pictures. I guess we will have to sit in the balcony at the next concert.

Laura is in Wind Ensemble. They played the highlight song of the night, “Clown Act.”

Our kids are so lucky to be part of the Hickman High School band program. There are just so many opportunities.

MU Champion of Champions

It was another day of lasts for Laura. It was her last section breakfast, which we hosted at our house. The clarinets were nice enough to allow the trumpets to join them.

Then, it was off to the University of Missouri for her last marching band competition.

While the results were disappointing, the band still did a great job! They placed third in both preliminaries and overall.

Competition season is now over, and the Hickman High School Marching Band placed in every competition. Way to go, kids!
