We actually got our new HTC One X smartphones on Friday of last week, but it wasn’t until today that I finally feel like it’s where I want it to be.  It takes a while to set everything back up between contacts, email (two accounts), apps, sounds profiles, etc.  My main thing was I really wanted a larger screen and a better camera (though now that I have the pocket camera, the better camera on the smartphone isn’t really necessary).  We did get a great deal on these phones as in *free*, and I think we are both very happy with them.  The only thing we have to fix now is our rate plan, which I think was not completed properly.  A call to AT & T awaits!

After hosting the Lowerys yesterday for the Alabama vs. Mizzou game, I pretty much knew that the kids’ room was a disaster zone.  I just didn’t realize quite how much until I wandered in there to clean it up this morning.  Welcome to total destruction, Mommy.  At least they had fun while they were in destruction mode!

We went to Mizzou Madness for the introductions to the 2012-2013 Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams.  Our neighbors told us about it and given that three of the four of them are ON the Women’s Basketball team and the kids LOVE them, we decided to go watch.  The kids had a great time while they cheered on Kyley, Bree, and Morgan.  We also got to see Truman the Tiger be lowered from the ceiling of Mizzou Arena, a dunk contest, skills contest, and scrimmages by both teams.  It was a good start to the season!  We’ll definitely be going to some of the weekend games to cheer on the Tigers!

John came home with a picture that he had colored.  Each color corresponds to a specific shape.  He did a great job and I had no idea that he knew all these.  I was also told that he is ready for their actual preschool class, so he will be “moving on up” if a spot opens!

Today was a *BIG* day, and I mean *BIG*.  We took the kids to the dentist for their six-month checkups.  Up until today, John would only let the dentist glance at his teeth and that was generally if he was crying.  Well, that all changed today.  We had two amazing Dentists, a great Dental Hygienist, and the best Dental Assistant.  We also had the world’s best big sister who told him all about the “tickly” toothbrush that the Dental Assistants use to brush your teeth.  Laura went first and John observed.  By the end of Laura’s visit, he was ready to hop in that chair!  John did not do the X-rays, but he did everything else.  I can’t even tell you how proud Andy and I were of the little man!

Both kids were great and they are both the proud owners of two new “No Cavity Club” t-shirts and several toys.  It was a successful visit for both our kids.  Most importantly, it was a successful visit for John and I think he is now over his fear of the dentist!

Do not panic.  None of us has head lice, *but* there is a case in Laura’s classroom at school.  The notice came home today.  It’s one of the joys of having kids in school – head lice, flu, colds, stomach bugs, etc.  Kids are little germ factories.  We did check Laura thoroughly and she does not have head lice.  Hopefully, it will remain that way as head lice is a pain in the ass to get rid of.  By the way, does anyone else’s head itch when you think about head lice?!?  Mine *always* does!
