Upon arriving home from work and daycare, Andy was looking at the Columbia “Leisure Times” publication. He was looking at swimming pool hours for the public pools and noticed that the Lake of the Woods pool was open until 7 pm on Thursdays and that after 5 pm, admission is only $1.75/person. On the spur of the moment, we all changed into our swimsuits and headed out the door. We got to swim for about an hour and the kids had a great time! Laura discovered how to swim to the bottom of the pool and that she could hold her breath while Andy counted to 13. John jumped in repeatedly… I’ll have bruises on my arms tomorrow because he jumped at me so much! It was well worth the $7 admission for the four of us and I think we’ll be going again sometime.
Paper Airplanes
The kids discovered paper airplanes at daycare today. Cheryl printed out directions to make various airplanes from the Internet and then the kids spent part of the afternoon making and flying paper airplanes. Not to be out done, Andy made the kids some paper airplanes when we got home that fly quite a good distance. It was so great to watch the kids have such fun flying their airplanes. How easily we forget the little things…
You know you’re a parent when…
…your major excitement for the day happens when your potty-training son poops in the potty on his own. Seriously. I’m not joking. *That* was our major excitement for the day.

Measure of a Successful Sunday
How do I measure a successful Sunday? By the amount of things crossed off my To Do list! The only thing left on my list is laundry and I’m working on that. I even managed to finish off a Bailey’s Irish Cream bottle in there too. All that is left besides the laundry is to make dinner (cooking in the crockpot now), clean the kitchen from dinner, and make lunches. Ah…..I see a very relaxing evening in my very near future.
Busy Saturday = Tired Kids
We had a busy, fun Saturday. First, we went to the Home Depot for Kid’s Workshop. This month, the kids got to build a moving truck. Kathryn and Andrea met us there and, about halfway through our projects, Alia appeared! The kids all had a blast despite it being packed with kids. Home Depot had five full tables going today.
After lunch at home, we packed up and headed to Little Mates’ Cove for some swimming. It amazes me how well Laura swims these days and John is no longer afraid of the fountains. It was a fun few hours with the kids. I didn’t take that many pictures, but I did snap this one… I’m not sure if Laura OR Andy is having more fun.
Both kids fell asleep on the way home and spent the rest of the afternoon/early evening watching television and laying around. We have two tired kids! Tired enough that when we put them to bed at 8:00 pm, we got no complaints. Ahhh…..some much needed quiet time for the parents!
