It was another successful visit to Cherry Hill Dental for the kiddos. Both are members of the No Cavity Club again! It was a little touch and go with John at first, but, once he watched Laura, he was good to go. He even let them scrape off a little bit of buildup on his front teeth. Laura will go back on Monday to have sealant put on her six-year molars to further help prevent cavities. Both kids are doing very well brushing their teeth (with some help from Mom and Dad) and were proud of themselves. Way to go Laura and John!

This Blog…
Weekends tend toward the insane and busy for us Kassel people. Generally, that means family time, Daisy Scouts, Sigma Chi business, time with friends, and house work (and a LOT of house work!). Frequently, you will notice that I’m three to four days behind on this blog. Eh. I hate that, but it happens. I’ve got things to do. I always know that come Monday, I will get it all caught up. Take tonight… I am happily sitting on my back deck with my laptop on the table. Got a glass of wine and music. It is the perfect time to update to my heart’s content.

Missouri Beer Festival
Andy and I went to the Missouri Beer Festival today. I must admit that while I liked the idea of tasting a lot of different beers, it really wasn’t my thing (if it was a wine tasting, this would be an entirely different story!). See, my favorite type of beer is stout beer, and you reach a certain point where they all taste the same. Andy found several beers that he liked and I found a few that I liked. However, I essentially stopped drinking by 2 pm because I knew that one of us was going to have to drive home and it clearly wasn’t going to be Andy. It’s okay though because I owe him a few, or ten. 🙂 We did get a couple of nice beer “shot” glasses, a t-shirt for me, and a pint glass that says, “In Dog Beers I’ve Had 1.” Oh, what a statement that pint glass makes…
Lenoir Woods
Laura’s Daisy Scout Troop went to Lenoir Woods today to make decorative flower pots for the residents there. Three residents came to join us and help. Sitting at Laura’s table was Wilma and Laura just had the best time with her. Laura was initially nervous and did not say much. It wasn’t long before Wilma asked what it was like to be a Daisy Scout and the conversation flowed freely from there. Laura thoroughly enjoyed talking to her and having Wilma’s help while making the button and felt flowers. She was very excited that she got to leave her flowerpot for Wilma to remember her by. It was a great activity and Laura said that she would love to go again.
