The Crud…
Laura’s got “the crud.” She’s had good moments and bad moments today. Andy stayed home this morning and I came home for the afternoon. I really hope she feels better tomorrow because I hate seeing either of my kiddos sick.

Invitations
The kids made me invitations to the Moms’ Pancake Breakfast at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church on Mother’s Day (May 12). They also made me a surprise craft that they will give me at the Pancake Breakfast. They were both very proud to give me their invitations and had a difficult time *not* telling me about the craft!

Birthday Present
My first 40th birthday present arrived today from Amazon. Dad and Marilyn got me the new 17-piece Cuisinart cookware that I have been looking at for a while, but was too cheap to buy for myself! Yes, it is a bit early since I don’t turn 40 until May 30, but I am not complaining about it arriving a bit early! Now, it is time to wash it all and find it a happy new home…
I Want To Be!
Laura’s Unit A class made a book again this year. This year’s theme is “I Want To Be”. Laura wrote, “When I grow up, I want to be a nurse. A nurse takes care of patients while they are waiting for the doctor. A nurse helps make the aches better. I want to be a nurse because I want to help people get better so they can be with their family again.” As a side note, Laura’s writing this year is so amazingly better than last year’s book. I was stunned at the difference. I so hope that John gets the opportunity to make a class book next year!
