We took advantage of another beautiful night and ate dinner outside. I hear that rain, cold, and possible snow are rolling in tomorrow…
He’s Pretty Good!
A Monday Morning Smile…
I opened my purse to get out my office keys when I got to work this morning and found this note from Laura.
Tonight, I gave her a big hug. I thanked her for the great note and told her that it made me smile big on a Monday morning. She said, “Mommy, you always put notes in my lunch that make me smile. I just wanted to do the same for you.” Love that kid!
Hello My New Love…
I was first introduced to Firefly Lemonade Martinis while visiting South Carolina a year ago. That Jill Blume has a way with drinks! Well, I finally have some very nice martini glasses and a cocktail shaker, so it only makes sense that I would make myself one (or three!) of these little loves. Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka + Lemonade + Lemon Sorbet + a sprig of Mint = YUMMY!
Parties!
It was a day of parties! First up was Madelyn’s fifth birthday party at Burger King. Mady is one of our next door neighbors and John and Laura were very excited to get the invite. Laura was especially excited because her BFF from Ridgeway Elementary, Annabelle, was also invited because Annabelle’s little sister, Lily, is BFFs with Mady. (Confused yet?!?) It was a fun time of tasty food, cake, and lots of play in the Play Place. It was a great way to burn off a lot of kid energy on a very rainy day.
This evening, Andy and I went to a surprise 30th Wedding Anniversary party for some great friends of ours, Greg and Beth Van Hove. A special thanks to Jenna for babysitting at the last minute so that Andy and I could go. It was a fun evening of celebrating their anniversary. We got to see a great picture slide show of their lives together and the 80s wedding photos rocked! These two have a great marriage and they are just the best people. Here is to many, many more years of happiness for our friends!
Lunch Date!
I had a special lunch date today. I met Laura at Ridgeway Elementary! On my way over to the school, I picked up McDonald’s for both of us. She was very happy to eat a Happy Meal as a special treat. One of her classmates called her a “lucky duck.” She said, “I’m not a duck, but I am lucky!” It was a fun lunch and she was very happy that I was there. I might be biased, but I think I had the best lunch date.
