Going Through Life One Post at a Time

It was a fun weekend of marching band for the Kassels. Laura had the Farmington Marching Invitational with the SEMO Marching Band.

John had Friday Night Lights followed by the Kansas City Championships with the Hickman High School Marching Band.

My kids do not know this yet, but they will someday. Marching Band is where it is at. No matter what is going on in their lives, they will always have a “home” on the field even when they are not marching anymore. The other members of the band are their people, their friends, and their teammates.

They will both walk off the field for the last time in just a few short years, but I know that they will always remember these weekends and marching band life. For this weekend, Laura will remember that it was her first time being a member of the exhibition band, and John will remember winning their first competition of the season and bringing home SEVEN trophies.

Marching Band. These are memories like no other.
It was Friday Night Lights with a twist!

The Hickman football team finally won a game!

It was their first win since October 21, 2022, and they beat Battle High School for the first time! I think they deserved some celebration.

ARC’s annual staff retreat went so well today! I think we accomplished a lot towards developing a strategic plan. I was especially happy because these types of things are difficult for me to do, but everyone seemed to appreciate the day. Now, it is time for a glass of wine followed by sleep.

To begin our annual staff retreat, I took the opportunity to give back a little to my staff and their families at MU’s Assessment Resource Center. We had tasty Shakespeare’s Pizza.

And, we spent time catching up with each other.

In the days of remote work environments, we mostly see each other over Zoom/Teams these days. There is just something about being able to see each other in person. I do not get the opportunity to do this very often, so I take advantage when I can.
This is one pair for SEMO and one pair for Hickman!
