John came home from school yesterday not feeling all that well. He had a slight fever and his throat was pretty swollen. I gave him some ibuprofen and decided to keep him home today. It is a good thing that I made that decision because he woke me up at 3:30 am obviously not well. I took him downstairs, laid him on the couch, and turned on the television. The fall decorations are out at the Kassel Household! All that is left is to replace the summer chair covers with the fall covers and put the boxes away. Next up, is Halloween decorations! Can’t wait to hang the “What happens at the Halloween Party stays at the Halloween Party sign”!
Laura is working on a poster all about Fireflies to share with her Brownie troop. This is Step 1 for her Bugs Badge. Yes, I did say bugs. She is learning all about bugs. Normally, I would be excited about her earning another badge, but it’s bugs. Yes, bugs.
The kids spent the day with great friends! First, John got to attend the Mizzou Football game with Wil Creech, one of his best Unit A friends. John had a great time!
Then, Laura got to spend the afternoon with Reagan Creech at a birthday tea party for one of their Brownie friends. The girls got to dress up and take their American Girl dolls. Fun times!

…to take out the Pork Steak to thaw, we struggle to pick out a suitable dinner replacement. Eventually, we give up and go out to dinner at Ruby Tuesday!
This will not happen tomorrow because I am making Gumbo as soon as we get home… No forgetting for me again!
Someone is very excited! Andy took John to get his Cub Scout uniform along with a new Tiger Cub hat. John *loves* the hat. I am pretty sure John will be going to bed with the hat still on!
