Just Waiting…
Moral of the Story…
See the pushed up cushion in the middle of our sectional sofa?
Well, that happened about 10 days ago. Obviously, it is a broken spring. Andy called Slumberland because we purchased the warranty. I was told by more than one person that we were crazy for buying the warranty. Slumberland put in a claim and sent out a furniture repair person. Not only is the spring broken, but the boards underneath are as well. The furniture repair person said, “I haven’t seen a couch do that before.” Today, Andy received an email informing us that Slumberland will replace the entire couch. The moral of the story here?!? Ninety-five percent of the time the warranty is *entirely* useless, but it is *completely* worth it the other five percent. That $90 spent three years ago just saved us at least $350 (the lowest cost estimate to fix it). More likely, we would have had to just replace the entire thing… Thank you warranty.

New Year’s Day!
Welcome to 2015 and the beginning of Year Five on this blog! This is post #1,450. I think that is quite amazing. All the memories that I would have otherwise forgotten. Yes, I know I don’t get each day’s post up here on time, but I never get more than a few days behind at a time and I always make sure to catch up! I am looking forward to the next 1,450! Now, on to New Year’s Day…
It was a nice, relaxing day around the Kassel house – football, friends, food, and drinks. We spent the day watching our Mizzou Tigers play Minnesota in the Citrus Bowl. The first quarter was scary, but Mizzou pulled it together to win 33-17. Then, Andrea and Kathryn Dothage came over to spend the evening with us. The kids played while the adults laughed and talked. We had a great dinner of Smoked Turkey Breast, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Stuffing, Green Beans, Cranberry Sauce, and Rolls. What a great way to spend New Year’s Day!
