Laura lost yet another tooth at camp on Friday. She bit into a pretzel and it finally came out. Kara, the Camp Director, put her tooth in a plastic bag and sealed it with pink duct tape. Because Laura had a sleepover on Friday night, we put the bag on the ledge in the kitchen so that we would not lose it. On Saturday, we did not get it put under her pillow for the Tooth Fairy because of the Ridgeway Elementary Pool Party and then a date night for Andy and I. Well, that Tooth Fairy is pretty slick because Laura woke up to this today! The Tooth Fairy found the tooth on the kitchen ledge, got the tooth out of the bag, and put $1 in the bag without taking off the duct tape. Crazy Tooth Fairy!
Pool Party!
The Ridgeway Elementary Summer Pool Party was this evening. We all had a great time! It was nice to see people that we had not seen in a while and it was nice to swim on the hot, hot day. We also got to watch Laura going off the diving board for the first time!
We had hoped to watch John go down the slide (as he has done many times with Camp Mudd), but the lifeguard was being pretty strict. I had to settle for a picture in the pool.
It was a fun evening at the pool with great Ridgeway families!
Sleepover!
Happy Birthday!
More Presents!
We joined Jeremy, Chaley, and Jeremy’s Mom at Ruby Tuesday for dinner this evening. It was a good time with great friends! Of course, besides getting to see Jeremy’s Mom, the kids (and Andy) were super excited to see birthday presents from Uncle Jeremy and Chaley. Andy got a gift card to Craft Beer Cellar. John got five packages of Pokémon cards. He just wanted to get home to open them! By the way, he now has a whole lot of Pokémon cards. His storage tin is very full!
Laura was very excited to open a package of eight 9 inch X 12 inch painting canvases. She got all squeaky! She was more excited to discover that Uncle Jeremy had even *more* painting canvases in his car – a package of two 16 inch X 20 inch and a package of ten 8 inch X 10 inch. I see lots of painting in the very near future! Anyone want a picture? Laura is taking orders!
The House…
Laura painted a picture for a friend tonight, and it got me thinking. I told Laura at dinner that I would love for her to paint a picture of the front of our house. We will soon be putting our house on the market because we need more space. She told me that she would because it would be a great memory and then said, “It’s the house that built our family.” I love that kid.
