The Kassel Family Project Life 365

…backbend!  It is official now!  It’s on the white board at Tiger Academy…

Christmas came early for one member of the Kassel Household.  I had intended to give Andy a Hot Wheels Mustang for Christmas with a note that read, “Go buy your new car.”  However, the intermittent starting issue that we have had with the Alero over the past 18 months decided to rear its ugly head again.  Andy was obviously frustrated because he sent me web links to Ford Mustangs for sale at the local dealerships.  Now, we had talked about replacing the Alero with a Mustang, so this was absolutely not a surprise.  Last night, he brought home a 2014 Mustang GT with only 4,400 miles on it.  Today, we have a new car in our garage and I have a husband with a huge smile.  Earlier than I wanted and my Christmas surprise ruined, but that smile *is* worth it.  Welcome home to the Blue Pony!

To our old girl, the Alero…  You were the first new car that we had ever bought.  We brought you home with 160 miles on you and you left us with just under 180,000.  We loved you and you were good to us.  Thanks for 13 great years!  We will miss you!

Clean up those leaves boys!  As I watch John and Andy use a kiddie swimming pool to carry leaves to our garden for burning, I think, “Wow, when did this happen?  When we first bought this house, we had no leaves to burn.  Look at those leaves now.”

It was a busy day of Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts as both Laura and John had events.  For Laura, it was International Girls Day at the Kappa Delta Sorority House.  I think this is Laura’s favorite event of the entire scouting year!  She loves those ladies and they always put on a great event.

For John, it was his regular Cub Scout Den meeting.  The boys got to work on their boats for the Raingutter Regatta.  After painting the sail, John brought it home to finish drying.

I really, really enjoy watching these two in Scouts.  They both love it and it makes me smile!

Yes, Laura is doing homework on a Friday.  I am not sure who she got that trait from because even *I* did not do homework on a Friday.
