Unit C Field Trip!
Laura got to go to Onondaga Cave today for her school field trip. She was so excited that she woke up at 5:22 am. Anyone who knows this kid knows that she is *never* awake that early. Laura had a great time! I picked her up at 4:45 and she talked all the way home about the cave and all the neat things she saw. Thanks to Amy Childs for snapping this picture for me!
Cookie Credit!
This is one happy girl. She got her Girl Scout Cookie credit today! She now has $60 to spend on Twilight Camp registration or at the Girl Scout Store. Thanks to everyone who bought cookies from Laura either in individual sales or from a cookie booth. She reached her goal of 300 boxes!
Field Trip Prep
It is school field trip week for the kids. Laura goes to Onondaga Cave on Tuesday and John goes to the St. Louis Zoo on Thursday. The reminder letters came home from school on Friday and we planned lunches and snacks so that I know what to make. 🙂
Cub Scout Campout
Today, we packed up the truck and drove to Hannibal, MO, to Mark Twain Cave and Campground for the Spring Cub Scout Campout.
The kids played with their friends and we all just enjoyed being outdoors.
This weekend proved that Missouri weather in May is fickle. It was chilly – even getting down into the thirties overnight. Laura was happy to have her Girl Scouts beanie hat to keep her head warm.
We had the traditional campout dinner of pork steaks, chicken, and potatoes. Always yummy cooked over a campfire!
We ended the evening around the campfire with s’mores and chatting. What a fun day!
Girl Scouts and Baseball
Laura went to a Girl Scout meeting and came home with lots of new patches from Court of Awards…
…while John played baseball in the rain!
Upgrade
Andy decided to upgrade his computer and he is hard at work putting it all together. I suspect that I will see very little of him this evening…
