Andy took John shopping for Valentine’s Day flowers for Ari, and he surprised Laura and me with flowers too. Happy Valentine’s Day!
Food Prep February
Food Prep February is moving right along as half of my list is done!
Andy even decided to join in on the fun by using up the carcasses in the freezer to make Turkey and Chicken Broth.
In my efforts to restock our freezer, I discovered my new, favorite kitchen gadget – Souper Cubes!
Make soup and then freeze in 1-cup or 2-cup portions. When the soup is fully frozen, pop out the blocks and place them in a freezer bag for storage.
Thaw and enjoy when you are ready to use them. Over the course of two days, I made the equivalent of 10 cans of Cream of Chicken Soup.
On the prep list for this weekend is three casseroles, two loaves of bread, and the first batch of Crockpot Tomato Soup. The freezer is filling up!
Super Bowl
Well, I do not care who wins the game, but I am looking forward to appetizers…
…and commercials! It is Super Bowl LVIII time!
Rocheport Chocolate Crawl
Andy and I spent the day together enjoying the little town of Rocheport at the Chocolate Crawl. Up first was tasting lots of different chocolates and chocolate goodies as we wandered from business to business.
Then, we went to Les Bourgeois Winery for a tasting and a glass of wine while we caught up with an old friend.
We finished the evening with dinner at the Rocheport General Store and dessert and drinks at the Mount Nebo Inn.
It was a great day away enjoying time with Andy.
Vet
We took Jim to the vet today for a physical exam, vaccinations, and a microchip. We can no longer pretend that Jim might end up being claimed by someone else as we registered the microchip as soon as we got home. Welcome to the Kassel Family for real, Jim!
Mizzou Men’s Basketball
A woman that I work with gave Andy and Laura two tickets and a parking pass for the Mizzou Men’s Basketball game tonight. The seats were very close to the court. While the team lost again, Laura caught a t-shirt. We will call that a win!
