Love this!

So, I know that it is not August, but it is Laura’s first day of Middle School and John’s first day of Fourth Grade.

Laura was a little nervous and excited as she left the house for the bus stop, but she said she had a great first day and even made a few new friends.

John was cool as a cucumber because he is “just moving up” to Unit C.  He also had a great first day and told me all about the geometry he learned.

I still cannot believe that Laura is really in middle school and that John is at Ridgeway by himself now.  Time just moves way too fast…

I am super proud of this kid!  This morning, she received the award at Gymnastics Camp for Most Creative.  She did a solo dance for the Talent Show last night and did a great job!

This afternoon, she had Court of Awards at her Girl Scout Meeting.  The back of her vest is officially full and she also received three more patches for the front of her vest.

Way to go, Laura!

Oh, John…  You could sleep longer on weekend mornings.  No one is waking you up.  If you slept longer, you wouldn’t come downstairs and then proceed to snuggle right back up on the couch under Blue and stare off into space.  However, it sure is cute how small you can make yourself.

My first ride with Andy was on April 10 and we only averaged 11.7 miles per hour.  Today, we rode the same route and we averaged 14.9 miles per hour.  I actually didn’t feel like I was holding him back and, between my two bikes, I crossed the 200-mile mark since April.  Yay for improvement!

Laura is attending Tiger Academy’s Summer Gymnastics Camp again this year.  She had so much fun last year and couldn’t wait to go again this year.  It will be a busy, tiring three days for her complete with a lock-in on Saturday night, but I know she will have tons of fun!
