Dinner conversation included a discussion about Laura having a crush on a boy. John thought that was hilarious and he laughed so hard for nearly ten minutes. Just so you know, it is impossible to not laugh when John is laughing that hard!
Solar Eclipse
Sometimes, you have to sit back and just enjoy. The Solar Eclipse today was simply amazing! My only regret is that we were all spread out and could not watch it together – Andy was at work, I was working from home, and Laura and John were both at school.
What a unique experience! We were all in awe. When the kids got home from school, they couldn’t stop talking about it. It was so fun to listen to them. Again, sometimes, you just have to sit back and enjoy.
On a side note, as part of the events at West Middle School, Laura’s science class wrote paper tweets and one of her teachers took pictures of them. I pulled up the tweet, https://twitter.com/RBrunsWest/status/899711018393366529, and Laura was very excited to discover that hers was among the pictures on the Tweet.

Big Tree Cycling Green and Black Ride
After fighting some anxiety throughout the day, I finally rode with Andy’s bike team on their Thursday social ride tonight. I will admit that I wanted to back out, but I didn’t let myself even though I knew that I might be the only woman there. I realize it is a social ride and it was slow for them, but I kept up, rode hard, and came away feeling good. Funny how that bike makes me feel so much better even when I’m exhausted and I get to ride with Andy. Double Bonus! Thanks for a fun ride, BTC!
