While Andy was showering today, Jim left him a little present. Fortunately, it was just a toy mouse.
Shark Wearable Blanket
Laura wanted a shark wearable blanket for Easter. I have no idea why she wanted one, but I could not resist buying it for her.
Even if she never uses it, that was the best five minutes of “overly excited teenager.” She was literally giddy!
Columbia City Council Meeting
Troops 523 and 706 did the flag ceremony to open the Columbia City Council meeting this evening. While both kids said that the meeting was boring, they did say that it was interesting to watch a meeting and see the process.
Happy Easter!
It was a quiet Easter at the Kassel Castle. There was lots of good food, including Crepes and Rack of Lamb.
There was competitive Sorry and The Game of Life.
Happy Easter!
Espresso Martini
I have been looking for a non-alcoholic version of an Espresso Martini. I struck gold today with a recipe that I found on Pinterest! Made from cold brew coffee, heavy cream, simple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt, this is so very tasty. You would never know that it contains no alcohol.
New Dinnerware
Well, I decided that it was time to replace our current dinnerware. The new sets arrive sometime next week.
Henry Doorly Zoo – Day Two
We started our second day at the aquarium. While it is not as large as some of the other exhibits, the aquarium still took nearly an hour to see it all. We especially enjoyed the penguins and the shark tank tunnel.
As we walked seven miles today, we saw elephants.
We touched stingrays.
We saw the tiger up close.
Andy and Laura played with a gorilla.
And, we visited the gift shop for a magnet and stuffed animals.
We finished the night eating a tasty dinner at Spaghetti Works. This has been a great trip! It occurred to Andy and me that this might be the last time that Spring Break lines up for the kids. It feels like another stage of parenthood has come to an end.
