FZN River City Showcase

It was a long day of marching band! It started with Trumpet section breakfast at 5:15 am at our house.

Then, the rest of us got ready and left about 9:00 am for Fort Zumwalt North High School. It was especially fun because our niece, Addyson, is in town for the weekend too!

We watched a lot of marching between both the preliminary performances and the finals performances.

Our favorite marching band worked so hard all day and nearly took first place, but they came up just short by .2 points. However, we will take it because they raised their scores from their preliminary performance by 2.6 points!

Win or lose, we love our Hickman High School Marching Band. Congratulations to all the kids on a great day of performances!

Homecoming Dance

Tonight is John’s last Homecoming dance.

We met Ari and their friends at Shelter Gardens for pictures.

John and Ari looked great together!

It is a little strange that the Homecoming Dance was on a Thursday night, but it actually worked out well for the band kids since they have a competition in O’Fallon, Missouri, on Saturday.

After pictures, the kids went to Olive Garden for dinner and then to the dance. John said that they had a lot of fun. We are already two months into Senior year. Time is flying by.

Crafty

When I am looking for something unique for Christmas gifts, I end up with melt and pour soaps after doing lots of research! We shall see how these turn out.

I started with a goat’s milk soap base that was surprisingly easy to cut into small cubes.

Then, I added the essential oils, honey, and oatmeal. The rectangle soaps are Lavender Lemon with Oatmeal, and the square/round soaps are Honey Lemon with Oatmeal. Now, to let them set up and then give them a try.

If it works, I see adding some soap colorant in my future along with some different scents, lavender buds, etc.

Be still my crafty heart! I know you only pop out when the project at hand is super easy, but this was fun!
