Long Day of Meetings = Comfy Clothes and Chocolate Martinis. It is good to be home.
Uniform Ready
John’s new, tan shirt is all ready for his last Cub Scout camp next week! He and Andy leave on Sunday for Camp Hohn. John is very excited because he will be inducted into Thundermen by the end of camp. In February, he will move up to Boy Scouts. Time, you move too fast. It seems like just yesterday that John put on his first blue shirt and was nervous to attend his first Tiger meeting…
Living Up to the Name
TEN!!! (And More…)
John is TEN!!! Happy, Happy Birthday to our sweet, fun-loving, baseball-loving boy! Welcome to double digits, Wood Bat!
Unfortunately, Laura and I had to miss the rest of John’s baseball tournament because she has Girl Scout Camp check-in today at Finbrooke Program Center. This year, she and Annabelle chose Hogwarts Camp because they both LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Harry Potter. She was so excited and was so happy when we arrived!
I will miss my girl for the week, but I know she will have lots of fun! In the meantime, John’s team lost their game 7-4, but they played well. Before returning to Columbia, Andy and John joined some team families for lunch at Ethyl’s Smokehouse. John ended up thoroughly embarrassed as the staff sang their birthday song to him and presented him with chocolate cake. I am sure he recovered quickly when he saw this slice of cake!!!
Andy and John arrived home about 4:30 pm and I followed at 6 pm. What a great weekend! We are all tired though. Early to bed tonight…
TWELVE!!! (And More…)
Laura is TWELVE today!!! Happy, Happiest of Birthdays to our Red! I know that spending it at the baseball diamond is not quite what you wanted, but you are an amazing sister and kid!
We spent most of the day at the ball field. It was hot. Just hot. One of the best things was that the tournament actually had a professional photographer there to take pictures of each team. I suspect we will be buying team pictures tomorrow…
John’s team tied the first game and lost the second. After the games, we headed back to the hotel for time at the pool with our baseball family and dinner. At about 7 pm, we all gathered in the lobby for cake for the kids. Laura is 12! (And that would be Coach Sterling and Caden, one of the players, photo bombing Laura’s cake picture.)
John will be 10 tomorrow! How is that possible?!? Nolan photo bombed John’s cake picture too!
Love our baseball team and their fun-loving attitudes! Happy Birthday to our kids and thanks to everyone for celebrating with us!
The Shockers Take O’Fallon
It is hard to believe that the last tournament of the season is here. The Shockers are taking over O’Fallon! First, I got cakes so we could celebrate Laura’s and John’s birthdays tomorrow night with our baseball family.
Then, we drove the two hours to the Drury Inn in St. Peters where the boys took over the pool and hot tub!
We spent the evening with our baseball family having dinner, sharing great conversation, and hanging out.
What a great way to spend a Friday night!
Family Night!
It was the first Camp Mudd Family Night of the summer and Laura’s first as a spectator. We got to listen to the kids sing all the familiar songs and watch the skits. John got to “sleep” through his kit. His acting skills are impeccable.
Afterwards, John had to show Laura around camp. Yes, she knows where everything is. Yes, he was doing it to be a pain in the butt to his sister. For me, it was hysterical to watch.
Have fun at your sleepover, John! See you tomorrow!
