The brisket is on the smoker. The pies are ready to be baked.
The turkey is in the brine.
The South Carolina Blumes arrived right about 4 pm followed by the Illinois Blumes at 8 pm.
Family is here and it feels like Thanksgiving.
It was a great night of food, family, and fun. I am so happy to have everyone here!
It was the last Cyclocross of 2018 at Cosmo Park. The kids and I went to hang out and cheer on Andy on this cold night. Fun times were had to close out the year!
Josefina and Topanga have a permanent place on our wall now. We really do miss those two.
The American Girl and Shopkins purge is complete and this is what Laura decided not to keep. The mom in me is sad that she has moved on and chosen not to keep everything. The practical part of me was adding up the costs in my head as she made her choices. The rough estimate is $500 new. I tell myself that she got lots of enjoyment out of everything, and she did, but I also got enjoyment out of buying it for her and watching her play. After Thanksgiving, it all goes up for sale. It is the “end of an era”, but don’t feel too sad for me because the teenage girl clothing obsession has started…
Today is John’s last Raingutter Regatta for Cub Scouts. Pack 2 made a day of it this year instead of doing it at the regular monthly meeting. The boys and their families got to enjoy a pizza lunch, complete a service project for the homeless, and enjoy the races.
For this year, each Scout was given a boat instead of sharing a boat with another Scout like in past years. John designed his boat by himself and Dad helped him to prime and paint.
The races are really fun to watch as the boys have to provide the wind for their boats. John told me that he was so nervous that he would blow downward, which would cause his boat to go under water and stop.
I would say that it was a pretty successful day for John! He placed first in his Den for speed and third for design.
It was a fun day and everyone had a good time. Great job to all the boys that participated!
Just because it isn’t Christmas yet, doesn’t mean that I can’t get crafting! I can’t wait to find a place for these!
The photos I ordered from MPix of our new family photos arrived today. It is time to get them framed and on the wall!
