Andy took me to Sycamore for Happy Hour tonight to try a couple martinis. While Andy enjoyed an Abraxas…

…I got to enjoy this little piece of Heaven on Earth – an Espresso Chocolate Martini. I make some tasty martinis, but this was amazing! I ended up having two of these. When you find something you love, stick with it.

The Christmas decorations have been taken down and put away. Our house has returned to normal.

One of the best parts of lots of snow is the opportunity to make Snow Ice Cream!

I found the recipe years ago when the kids were little and I love how they still get very excited to make it when we get a big snowfall.

The majority of the snowstorm has passed, but it is still supposed to snow most of today. We will most likely get another few inches as the day goes on.

Time to dig out!

If the weather predictions are correct, we are looking at our first, big snowfall in a few years.

When I left work at noon, it had just begun to switch from rain to snow. Columbia Public Schools had an early release day, so the kids were both home by 1 pm. Andy followed shortly after that because the University of Missouri closed campus at 1 pm. I figured since I am house bound for the rest of the day, I might as well celebrate the snow with a glass of wine!

The snow is heavy and wet, and it is sticking to everything. It really is beautiful outside, but I suspect we will have some broken tree limbs before the storm is over.

A few times throughout the day, Andy cleared part of the deck and driveway. The more he clears now, the less he will have to clear tomorrow. He also took a measurement here and there.

The majority of the snow is to fall overnight and into tomorrow. They predict that the storm should end sometime tomorrow evening. Bring it on!
It is Instrument Enrollment Night for John.

Andy and John went to Smithton Middle School this evening so that John could try the different instruments. Admittedly, Andy and I were pushing John to the trumpet since we actually have a trumpet, but it turns out that John really loved it and made it his first choice. We find out in a few weeks what instrument he will play.
