I got to work this morning to discover this waiting for me on my desk. Looks like I need to find a martini recipe that uses rum!

It is time to get moving for the year and stop being lazy. To the trainer, I go!

It is John’s first Boy Scout Troop meeting with Troop 706. He is a little nervous, but excited at the same time.

It is just us this year for the Super Bowl. No one is particularly excited about the game, but we still used the game as an excuse to eat snack-type foods and relax.

John attended his last Blue and Gold Banquet as a Cub Scout. It is hard to believe that his Cub Scout journey with Pack 2 has come to an end.

The banquet began with dinner and games. Then, the Webelos II were called to the stage for the Arrow of Light Ceremony. Their Den Leader described what each color on the arrow means and each boy was presented with their arrow.

Then, parents were called to the stage to pin the Arrow of Light badges on their sons.

This was definitely a proud moment for all of us as John has worked so hard over the years. I have enjoyed watching him grow as a Cub Scout and eventually arrive here. I look forward to watching him continue with Boy Scouts.
The bridging ceremony concluded the evening. Boy Scout Troops 706 and 707 were called to the stage. John and three of the other Webelos II are moving onto Troop 706. As part of the ceremony, the boys each read part of the Scout Law. John read “Helpful” and “Reverent.”

Then, each boy places the plank on the bridge until it is complete.

The boys also sign their names on the bridge to remain for years to come.

Finally, each boy’s name is called and they cross the bridge to their new troop.

Troop 706 presents each new member with their new neckerchief and slide, troop numbers, and bead hanger.

At the end, we took a picture of the new members with their new troop. It is on to new adventures!

“You don’t need a ticket to see some of the best baseball in the world. You just need to drive one of the players to the game.”
I picked up John’s new jerseys today.

Here is to new beginnings for my favorite 10-year old!

My trail girl got a saddle upgrade – a new Specialized Mimic – and new wheels with tubeless tires! Here’s to hoping that the weather cooperates this weekend and I can take her out!
