For John’s new baseball team, each player buys their own helmet. The brand doesn’t matter just as long as it fits well and is navy blue. Then, decals are purchased at a local shop for just $2 each for the front and back of the helmet. John’s new helmet came in today, so Andy put the decals on. This is the front.

And, this is the player! We are nearly ready for baseball season. All that is left is to buy a new bat.

My Director had to remind me today to stop thinking about everyone else in the office for just a few hours and complete my Position Classification Questionnaire (PCQ). Since I have taken on significantly more duties and my role has changed twice in less than a year, she is effectively giving me a promotion. The new title will be Associate Director of Program/Project Operations. Now, to just find the time to fill out more than my name…

When church is cancelled due to icy conditions, I try out a new comfort food recipe. Despite initial complaints from both kids, this was declared a hit! It is time to add another recipe to the database.

Look! It’s a tween girl in her happy place. Shh… Don’t distract her. There are many important decisions to be made.

I had a rocky start to my work day to say the least. I had to remind myself that I asked for and wanted more responsibility and to keep a level head. I was proud that I did not get upset in the moment, but even more grateful for awesome coworkers to just listen afterwards and also to make me laugh. Upon arriving home, I made myself a Chocolate Martini…

…and stared at the sunshine coming through the icy trees.

It was definitely a Friday to remember, but also one to let go. Bring on Monday with new adventures.
We are home today due to an ice storm that moved through our area. I hate ice, but it really is beautiful on the trees and bushes.

I also can’t complain about a fire and a glass of wine with my husband in the middle of the day.
