Check another thing off the vacation bucket list! We went to see the newest “Star Wars” movie today. The Kassels all agreed that it was great and a fitting end (though I am sure another trilogy will pop up soon, so it probably isn’t the “end”).
We have talked about going to Warm Springs Ranch at Christmastime for a few years now, but never seemed to quite make it. Well, that changed this year.
I am so glad we went. The horses and facility are amazing. We got to have our picture taken with Pride. He has been part of all three Budweiser hitch teams and has appeared in a few of the commercials.
The kids loved seeing the horses and getting to pet a few of them.
We will be visiting again next year and also hope to take a private tour sometime this year. You can say what you want about Budweiser, but they provide an amazing facility and take meticulous care of these beautiful horses. It is a site to see!
Christmas day began later than normal at The Kassel Castle. While John woke up at 6:30, he was content to hang out with me in the guest bedroom and watch some television on my Kindle. Once everyone was up, we made quick work of opening the presents. The Kassels were really, really good this year because Santa brought us an XBox One X!
The kids were so excited, but they had other priorities – as in more presents…
In between watching the kids open their “mountains,” Andy and I opened our gifts to each other. I got him a new Sigma Chi robe to replace the one that we had to throw away because it was just too threadbare. I found it on Campus Classics in early December and showed it to him. He commented that it was way too expensive. So, I bought it as he walked away from the computer. I don’t always listen well…
As for me, Andy doesn’t surprise me very often, but this did it! Andy got me the KitchenAid Pasta Roller to go with my mixer! I can’t even tell you how excited I am! And, he found a set that included the slicer/shredder attachments. Now, to find recipes…
The kids were thrilled with their gifts. One of Laura’s favorites was her new Penny skateboard.
This will be shocking, but one of John’s favorites was his dream NERF gun (for this year anyway).
We spent the rest of the day enjoying time with Grandpa and Grandma Baars, relaxing, and eating. Merry Christmas all!
