If nothing else comes out of this time at home, we have at least had the opportunity to try lots of new recipes. Up tonight is a copycat version of Flat Branch Pub & Brewing’s Artichoke Dip.
I even made homemade bread bowls.
It was incredibly tasty! It is time to add two more recipes to our database.
We had a robin build a nest on the support beam underneath our deck. It is actually a great place for a nest because it is very well protected. I have enjoyed watching her each day as she sits on the nest and carefully turns the eggs. We should have baby birds any day now.
So, it’s not like I have ever been tall. It also isn’t much of an accomplishment to be taller than me. However, the day is coming incredibly fast when I will be looking up to John and he is ONLY 11. I guess it is probably my fault for deciding to have kids with a person who can rest his chin on top of my head.
Of all my anxieties relating to this whole situation, the biggest was the thought of not being able to find a picture to take every day. I have been doing this for nearly ten years and all I could think about was, “What the hell happens if I can’t find a picture to take every day?” This may seem small to a lot of people, but this is huge to me and it caused some sleepless nights. The years of memories in that daily picture gave me mountains of anxiety.
The reality is that I was feeling anxious over nothing. This time has not been any different than the previous years. Today, both my kids gave me opportunities for Picture of the Day. John should probably “win” the day because he would not let Andy give him his television remote back (too much screen time is a big struggle with him).
But, Laura took the opportunity to use a school activity for French Class to draw a quote on our sidewalk.
Both are worthy of Picture of the Day. Fortunately, this is a blog, and space is not an issue. Both win the day.
