The Troop 706 Winter Court of Honor was this evening. John earned service hour beads, the Personal Fitness merit badge, and the Life rank.

The Life rank is the last rank before Eagle. While John is not sure that he will work towards Eagle, he does seem more motivated to finish the required merit badges. He still has nearly 18 months to finish should he choose to do it.

Congratulations to John and the other members of his patrol! It is so hard to believe that these boys are now the “older scouts.”

Neither Andy or John were particularly thrilled to run the cinnamon roll sales booth for Troop 706, but they did it anyway. They were good Scouts today!

Yesterday, I got a text message from Laura talking about how disappointed she was in a sweater she had purchased from ThredUp. She said it had weird, poofy sleeves and looked terrible. Today, I got this picture and a comment about how wrong she was. She tried the sweater with a different pair of pants. Now, the sweater has the right “vibe.” It is another clothing disaster averted, and Laura looks great!

The house still feels bare even though we took the Christmas decorations down last week. It will feel normal soon, but it is still bare for now.

There is pride in my heart – a rite of passage. Laura texted this picture and said, “Normal and sane use of a meal swipe.” Her momma had ice cream for dinner on several occasions in college. To me, it meant freedom and the ability to make my own decisions. I simply love this picture.
