Order of the Arrow

It is the time of summer when Andy and Laura begin going to Camp Hohn every week for the Order of the Arrow call-out ceremony.

Laura has learned a lot of leadership skills during her time in scouting, but particularly through Order of the Arrow. This is one of her ways of giving back to the organization. So, every Thursday evening, she and Andy drive to Camp Hohn so Laura can participate in the ceremony. I am proud of them for continuing to give their time.

And, It Begins

All the Senior things began today with tuxedo yearbook photos.

While John took some great photos and I was excited to see them, I had to remind myself to buckle up as high school graduation will be here in the blink of an eye.

The days may be long, but the years are short.

Memorial Bike Ride

Andy participated in a memorial bike ride for John Wilkinson today. John was hit by a car and killed while riding his bicycle about two weeks ago in Colorado.

John was a former co-owner of CycleX, and he always had a smile for everyone. He was always so encouraging, and I used to love passing him on the trail. He would yell, “Errriiicccaaa!” I would smile back and say, “Jooohhhhnnnn!”

He was a beloved member of the cycling community here in Columbia. He will be so missed.
