Veterans United set up a drive-through light display on the campus of their new building for their employees and the Columbia community. We waited in line for about 30 minutes, but it was worth it.

Most of the campus was used and there were lots of different displays.

My favorite was this North Pole sign.

We all thought that this starburst was cool.

Of course, I had to take a picture of Santa.

I hope that they do this again next year! It was a unique experience and a lot of fun.
John’s Scout Troop put together Christmas gift bags for service members who will be in the Veterans Hospital on Christmas day. It did not take long to do, but all the boys said that they hope these will help to brighten someone’s day.

This is what 7th Grade Science class looks like these days.

It is time for Crime Scene Chemistry Lab. Please pray for my kitchen…

These are my new favorite Christmas cookie. I do not typically eat baked items, but I am pretty sure I could eat every last one of these and more. I literally had Kolaczkis for breakfast…

I love to bake even though I rarely eat anything I bake. Yes, I am aware that is weird, but it is how I am. I am in my element at Thanksgiving because pies are my thing. Christmastime is a different story. I despise baking cookies. So, Andy answers the baking call this time of year and he serves as the Kassel Family Cookie Chef.

We now have Grandma Vi’s Butter Cookies, Gingerbread Cookies, and Zimmerschied (Brown Sugar Cookies).

Kolaczkis are also on the menu. I think I will keep the Cookie Chef around for a while longer.
Andy finished making the three different types of cookie dough, and it is chilling in the refrigerator. I suspect the house will smell amazing tomorrow!
