We are so close to owning the Mustang. We have two payments left!

“Baseball is more than a game. It’s like life played out on a field.” – Juliana Hatfield
And, life sure played out on a field today. You know those days where you struggle, make mistakes, and just cannot seem to get going? Well, those were the boys we saw today in the first game of bracket play. They were down 5-2 going into the bottom of the fifth inning and it was score or go home. Rather than concede defeat, they came roaring back to tie the game 5-5, forcing a sixth inning. When they took the field for the top of the sixth, I knew the game was over. The swagger was there. The confidence was evident. There was no way that they were going to fight that hard only to go home. They quickly closed out their half inning in the field and then went on to score on the first play of their at bat to take the game 6-5.
Sometimes, the championship game isn’t the actual championship game. Instead, it is the game that nearly does you in. It is the game that shows just how much fight you really have in you. It is the game that makes you dig deep and find your heart.
Congratulations to the Mid-MO Stars on Championship #5 of the 2021 season! Your biggest fans could not be more proud of you. Way to getcha some!

It was a fun day! It started with the MU Homecoming Parade for Laura, which was a new experience for her.

It ended with a solo home run for John as his baseball team won both of their games today.

These two kids make me so proud!
Tonight was Middle School Night for the eighth grade bands from West Middle School, Jefferson Middle School, and Smithton Middle School at Friday Night Lights.

It was great to see both our kids on the field for the pre-game show.

The middle school bands also got to play pep tunes in the stands.

John said that the experience was a lot of fun. I am not sure that it was enough to convince him to join marching band next year, but he is definitely thinking about it now.
I hate moles. In the last three weeks, we have spent $316 ($79 each) on mole removal. We also had four that past spring. They are a continuous, constant problem in our yard. I hate them.

Laura and John sort of smile for a picture when you threaten to take their phones away…
