Going Through Life One Post at a Time
I am becoming the crazy cat lady who only takes pictures of our cat. For now, I will blame that on Laura because she asked all of us to take a picture of Jim each day and send it to her. However, I am not really sure that is a valid excuse in my case.
Sometimes, I wonder if Jim thinks to himself, “Where can I sit that would annoy my humans the most?”
If it looks like a box, Jim gets in it.
Usually, I put the fall decorations out either on Labor Day weekend or the weekend after. However, Laura will be home, and we might have family coming into town. The following weekend is the beginning of all the fall activities. So, I made the decision to put them out today. Our house always looks so cozy when the fall decorations are out, and I love it.
We moved Laura from her double room to a single room today. This is before we moved all of her things.
The move only took about two hours from start to finish including unpacking, and it made such a huge difference for her! She was happy and excited, and the single biggest hurdle to her settling in at SEMO has been removed.
We do have a small list of things to get like a larger area rug, but it was so great to see Laura with no anxiety for the first time. She sent us off to Columbia with big hugs and a smile. When we were leaving, Andy told her that it was his turn to be sad, and she said, “Dad, you know you can just call me.” There were no signs of homesickness at all. Our mission is accomplished. Let her college experience really begin!
