Sorting and Reorganizing

The time has come to clean out some kitchen cabinets. This afternoon, I spent about two hours sorting and reorganizing a few cabinets. I was excited to make enough room for all the attachments for my KitchenAid mixer.

The cabinet with the canned goods, boxed foods, etc., now has extra space.

Lastly, the old water bottle cabinet has a lot of extra space and is clean and organized.

I can check another thing off my list!

St. Patcaken

Andy found a picture on the web of the “St. Patcaken.” A bakery in New York makes these for St. Patrick’s Day. He asked me if I could recreate it, but I told him to ask our friend, Amanda, who loves to do things like this. Well, she rose to the occasion!

This is the St. Patcaken. It weighs 12 pounds and is three different layers – Whiskey Pecan Pie, Baileys Cheesecake, and Guinness Green Velvet Cake. It is delicious, but it was also so rich. It is definitely a St. Patrick’s Day treat!

Water Bottle Storage

Our water bottles have gotten out of control, but we use all of these.

So, I needed to find another option for storage, and Andy put it together today.

Now, only the water bottles that we use all the time are in the cabinet and the rest are stored out of the way. It is time to check another item off my list!

Restock the Freezer

I have declared that March will be “restock the freezer” month.

I did this last year in February, but I mostly made a lot of freezer meals. This time, my goal is to freeze various veggies and homemade bread, and stock up on meats that are on sale. Just this weekend, I added pork spare ribs and beef chuck roast that were on sale at Mosers. I may not get the freezer full this time around, but I am looking forward to trying to freeze different things.
