Going Through Life One Blog Post at a Time

The Hickman High School Marching Band got to flex a little muscle today at the Lee’s Summit North Marching Invitational. It was their best run of the season.

The judges rewarded that run with First Place! They also won Outstanding Music and Outstanding General Effect.

The hard work and dedication of these kids is amazing. It was so fun to watch their reaction when Lee’s Summit High School was announced as second place, and they realized that they won. Way to go, Marching Kewpies! You earned it!
Friday Night Lights included Senior Night for Laura.

I cannot believe that she is nearing the end of her last high school marching band season!

It was great to watch the show from the track and celebrate our favorite Senior at the Senior Night reception.

We are so proud of her!

When your Band Director posts this on the Hickman HS Band FB page,…

…your band kid asks to do this.

It should be a funny morning tomorrow at Marching Band practice!
I guess Andy’s dresser is the spot of choice today.

Andy and Laura got the opportunity to join BJ, a friend from the Scout troop, in his plane today.

They flew around Columbia and got to see our house from the air.

They had a great time and really enjoyed the experience.

It was a haircut and style this morning…

… and Senior pictures this evening.

Every experience this year makes me realize Laura is just one step closer to graduation. It was such a fun time watching her get her photos taken. She was tentative at first, but she was loving every minute by the end.

Big thanks to Shannon at The Strand for her “favorite haircut ever” and to Tamara Dee Photography for pulling out her personality in photos! We cannot wait to see the results!
