The Things We Do
After three hours at the Hickman Baseball concession stand on what was probably the biggest night of the year, I told Andy that I was not cooking. My back hurts; my feet are sore; and I got 8,000 steps while in the concession stand. I am exhausted and I am going to sit in my chair and enjoy wine from the largest glass that I could find. The things we do for our baseball boys…

Divide and Conquer
While I went to Jefferson City to watch the Hickman C Team Kewpies play baseball,…

…Andy went to Hickman High School to watch Laura in the Spring Jazz Concert.

It is what parents have to do sometimes.
Softball
The kids and I drove to Southeast Missouri State University today to watch Avry play softball.

It is always an adventure with the Illinois Blumes and today was no different.

We got to experience our first hail delay and eat some tasty Chicago-style hot dogs. Laura and Addyson got to learn about the “wristband.”

It was a great day spent with family, and it does not matter that the softball was not the best. The only thing that would have made it better is if Andy could have been with us. It was great getting to see this crew for the second time in less than a month!

The Griller
The Griller decided to use the charcoal grill this evening.

Batting Cage
John is struggling so much at the plate and is in the worse slump of his baseball career. So, I suggested a trip to the batting cage since he had no practice today. By the end of the hour, John was looking much more like himself, and he was cranking out the hits. I just hope that session translates when he steps into the batter’s box at the next game.
