Just Like Any Other Day

Turning 50 was a pretty normal day. The kids had their first day of Hickman marching band camp.

Andy and I took a morning bike ride.

We got donuts at Yummy’s.

Andy worked, and I took the day off though I did work some. Then, we spent the evening at the ballpark in Centralia.

It was just like any other day.

Mother’s Day Gift

My Mother’s Day gift from Andy finally arrived today because shipping took quite a while. I must say that he really outdid himself.

For those of you who do not know, I refer to the kids as Thing One and Thing Two on social media to protect their privacy after a series of very odd experiences with someone that used to work in my building at work. As that situation was playing out, I chose these nicknames to prevent anything from happening in the future, but also because who doesn’t love “The Cat in the Hat” by Dr. Seuss?

What I did not expect are the people who tell me that they think the nicknames are so fun. Also, these same people only refer to the kids as Thing One and Thing Two in comments that they leave on my posts even though I never actually told them why I refer to the kids this way. I love this cup so very much. It brought tears to my eyes. Now and then, that husband of mine knows exactly what to do. I love you, Andy, for paying attention to that Facebook ad. This cup is simply the best.

Expedited Shipping

According to Laura, Andy should take comfort in the fact that he is not worth paying for expedited shipping.

This is proof that even as teenagers you just never know what kids will say! I laughed much harder at this than I probably should have…
