Don’t Give Up
“It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.” -Babe Ruth
The Mid-MO Stars gave it everything they had today. As the #5 seed, their games started at noon, and they just kept chipping away to the championship game. The first game ended pretty easily. The second game against the #1 seed was a fight to the end. The championship game was a struggle as it took a lot of pitching to just get to that game. However, the boys made no excuses, and they just kept playing. In the end, they finished in second, leaving everything on the field.

Afterwards, medals were handed out quickly and we all left the ballfield because it was 10:15 pm. We were more concerned about getting on the road for home. However, there are moments that make you stop and think. On my walk to the car, I overheard a player from the other team say, “Geez, Dad. That team just never stops even when they are losing.” That is some serious respect, and the boys earned it. Congratulations to the Mid-MO Stars on a hard-earned second place.

The Lake
The morning was spent on the lake in the Van Hove’s boat,…

…and the afternoon was spent at Osage Beach City Park.

Suffering
Well, I guess I will suffer through this view for the weekend…

Time to Go Home
I would love to stay for one more night in this beautiful room, but, alas, it is time to go home…

A Night Out
To celebrate my 50th birthday, Andy and I spent a night at the Tiger Hotel here in Columbia.

We visited Sycamore, Tellers, and the Vault for good drinks and appetizers.

Then, we had a fabulous dinner at Tellers.

We finished up the night with a bottle of wine in our hotel room. It was the perfect night spent with the man that I love most. Happy 50th Birthday to me!
