Well, it turned out to not be the typical July 4. I found this picture on Andy’s Google Photos.

I suspect it is from a baby raccoon that wandered through their campsite, but back to not a typical July 4…
I knew it would not be a typical July 4. Andy and the kids were at Scout camp and I was going to be by myself. I was looking forward to the quiet and being able to just do whatever I wanted. I had even worked it out with Carol, my best friend from college, to come down for two days. That all changed about noon. Andy texted from camp to say that Laura was freaking out about being at camp and he told me to come down immediately. However, I could not leave right then because Carol was going to arrive within about an hour. After talking to Laura on the phone and getting everything lined up, Carol and I left at 2 pm to pick up Laura. By the time we got to Camp Hohn, Laura was calm and relaxed, but she was very ready to be home. Once we got home and unloaded the car, Laura showered and took some time to decompress. Carol and I made dinner and spent the rest of the evening just talking. Laura went to bed early, but she was also back to “normal” by then.
Laura has been showing signs of having anxiety, but this was much worse than any other time. Once Andy returns from camp, we will sit down with Laura and decide what we should do. Spending a week away from home at camp when her Dad and brother are there should not cause this much anxiety.
