It wasn’t the best weekend of baseball, but it wasn’t the worst either. After tough days on both Friday and Saturday, a different Stars team showed up today. The boys finished second in the consolation bracket, losing the second game 3-2.

They were unhappy with not finishing it, but we had some definite bright spots. Clayton made a leaping catch that brought a fist bump from the umpire. Lucas and A.J. joined the “Stars Home Run Club.” The infield was so close to turning their first double play. Cody got his pitching groove back. Shane had an amazing hit that was so close to being out. John took a single away by throwing the runner out at first base from right field. The Parent Club got to see a former family that came out to cheer on the boys. As Coach Al said after the final game, “if you aren’t winning, you’re learning.” It is on to league play on Tuesday!
