House Projects

Being home has meant completing some house projects. It has also meant adding some more along with those projects that spontaneously popped out of my head, but did not really need to be at the forefront.

Since Andy is now working from home permanently, he needed a new desk for his office that could accommodate both his work and home computers as he cannot continue to work in the dining room on a full-time basis.

That led to moving John’s computer from Andy’s office to his own room. John’s room has been upgraded to a pre-teen room that includes a small desk and a new office chair.

Andy is just about two weeks away from having a “grown-up office” once the new bookshelf arrives and he can put everything away that came out of his work cubicle. Of course, now we have two desks to sell that were in the office, but that is an easy problem to tackle!

But back to John’s room… During the cleaning and rearranging process, I decided to use the nightstand from the guest bedroom as an extra shelf in John’s room.

So, that meant that I just had to get two new nightstands for the guest bedroom. While searching for those, I stumbled upon the gray headboard for the bed (damn you, Amazon!). I also found some new Monopoly-themed decorations on Etsy that should arrive in the next week. With all those changes, that now means that the bedroom needs to be painted the light blue color from the Monopoly real estate cards because we simply cannot rehang the Monopoly board that I cross-stitched all those years ago unless the walls are painted. Right?!?

On top of that, I now have two nightstands in the guest bedroom and I only had one lamp. That led to a trip to Lowe’s, which resulted in finally purchasing the new light for the kids’ bathroom.

I am sure that Andy wants me to return to work full time as soon as possible. He goes on furlough for a week starting on Sunday. I wonder if I can get him to build those shelves in the cedar closet/soon-to-be pantry?!?

Is this why husbands hide from wives a lot? Asking for a friend…
