School is officially out for the summer and we have two middle schoolers. I still cannot believe that Laura will be in eighth grade and John will be in sixth grade in the fall.
To celebrate, we took our annual bicycle ride on the MKT and Katy trails to the Big Tree for a picnic. This year, we got on the MKT trail at the Stadium trailhead.
It was a beautiful day for a ride and we got a firsthand look at some of the flooding. It was shocking to see just how high the water actually is.
We only had to backtrack one time because of flooding on the way to the Big Tree. Once there, we enjoyed a picnic while we talked about the upcoming summer.
I am super proud of the kids. They rode nearly 18 miles round trip and that is their longest rides yet. It was the perfect way to start the summer!
