Blue and Gold Banquet

John attended his last Blue and Gold Banquet as a Cub Scout. It is hard to believe that his Cub Scout journey with Pack 2 has come to an end.

The banquet began with dinner and games. Then, the Webelos II were called to the stage for the Arrow of Light Ceremony. Their Den Leader described what each color on the arrow means and each boy was presented with their arrow.

Then, parents were called to the stage to pin the Arrow of Light badges on their sons.

This was definitely a proud moment for all of us as John has worked so hard over the years. I have enjoyed watching him grow as a Cub Scout and eventually arrive here. I look forward to watching him continue with Boy Scouts.

The bridging ceremony concluded the evening. Boy Scout Troops 706 and 707 were called to the stage. John and three of the other Webelos II are moving onto Troop 706. As part of the ceremony, the boys each read part of the Scout Law. John read “Helpful” and “Reverent.”

Then, each boy places the plank on the bridge until it is complete.

The boys also sign their names on the bridge to remain for years to come.

Finally, each boy’s name is called and they cross the bridge to their new troop.

Troop 706 presents each new member with their new neckerchief and slide, troop numbers, and bead hanger.

At the end, we took a picture of the new members with their new troop. It is on to new adventures!
