Tonight was John’s second game of the spring baseball season. He played well in the field and almost caught another fly ball. With just a little more practice, I think he will be consistently catching fly balls. He capped his night with a two-run home run, and, yes, I caught the swing on camera.
You can definitely tell that John has been paying close attention to his coaches and Andy and also whenever he watches a baseball game (whether that be on television or in person). His batting form has greatly improved and he has some instincts about the game, like not throwing the ball to a base if there are no plays to be made. Some things you can coach and some things you just have to *know*.
I don’t know if he will continue to play baseball because that will be his choice, but, regardless, it sure is fun watching him absorb and learn and improve! There might also be a little bit of bribery involved to keep him loving the game… Like last time, we went to Sonic for ice cream to celebrate. Way to go John Buddy!
