We visited the St. Louis Science Center for our last day of vacation. The Science Center is not that big, so we had plenty of time to look at all the exhibits, see “Live Sky Tonight” at the McDonnell Planetarium, and see “Journey to Space” at the Omnimax Theatre. We started out looking at the dinosaur exhibit. The kids thought this exhibit was particularly neat and got to learn about being an archaeologist.
John would have spent all day looking at this machine if we had let him! It was quite impressive and he could not get enough. Every time we got near the entrance to the Science Center, John would stop and watch the balls as they moved through the different parts of the machine.
John’s other favorite part was figuring out how to program this train so that it would actually move. He was so proud of himself when he got it moving backwards!
Laura’s favorite part was visiting the Life Science Gallery. She thought it was so cool that she had to wear a lab coat and protective eyewear to enter the Gallery. Her activity was analyzing isopods (roly-poly bugs) through a microscope. She LOVED it!
In case you are wondering, Andy’s favorite part was the Planetarium show and mine was the Omnimax movie. After a long day at the Science Center, we headed for home about 4:30. It was an uneventful, easy trip home. What a great trip, but it is *always* good to be home!
