Today was a new journey for Laura – her first ever Girl Scout Camp. Despite a rough start (nine girls were attending from Laura’s troop and she was the only one not in the same camp group), it turned out to be a great night for Laura! She came home so completely excited. She got to meet Rosie Newberry, a local weather person for KOMU 8, met two “really awesome girls,” and had just so much fun working on the “Inventor” Brownie badge. Also, Laura said that Twilight Camp is more fun than Camp Mudd. Now *THAT* is a real compliment.
And, for the record, this Mom is very excited that she had so much fun. I remember my Girl Scout camp days and they really were a great, fun experience. After dropping Laura off at camp and seeing her so upset over being the “odd girl out,” I was so happy to know that she had the best experience. When I left her at Twilight Camp, I felt horrible and I was so mad that she was upset. It was simply amazing to see her after camp. This is one great kid. I am a lucky, lucky mom.
