Today was our annual Memorial Day weekend barbecue. I have no idea how long we have been doing this, but it seems to get bigger every year. We invited all the usual “crew” along with some new people. As usual, we asked that everyone bring a side dish and whatever they wanted to drink. I was a tiny bit concerned that we wouldn’t have enough food, so I made Ranch Potatoes and Rhubarb Cake too. You would think I would know better at this point, but I have a short memory. We had more food than we knew what to do with. Literally, every inch of our kitchen counter was covered and the grill was completely full too!
It was such a fun evening! We enjoyed really great food, drinks, and friends. The girls played a lot.
The small boys played a lot.
The big boys played a lot.
And the adults played a lot. “Cards Against Humanity” is a really fun game although it might lead you to seriously question the people you chose as friends!
Some of the kids fell asleep and others (Laura) were still awake when the evening wrapped up well after midnight. I foresee a long day tomorrow, but it was well worth it. Another great barbecue with great friends!
