He is risen; He is risen indeed! Happy Easter everyone! We began our day as we always do… VERY early at Easter Sunrise Service at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. It was a gorgeous morning and the service was great. It is always my favorite church service each year. It was wonderful to enjoy the outdoors and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. After service, we went to Bob Evans for breakfast and then to Shelter Gardens for a walk. Of course, I took the camera and we got some great pictures of the kids.
After our walk, we went back to St. Andrew’s for the church Easter Egg hunt. The goal was to collect 20 eggs and then turn them in for a bag of candy and prizes. I am not sure that there were enough eggs on the side lawn. What do you think?!?
After the fun of the Easter Egg hunt, we went home to discover that the Easter Bunny had visited our house! The kids were so excited to find their baskets. It was a fight to get them to sit down long enough for me to take one picture of them with the Easter baskets…
The Easter Bunny brought many different things, but the kids’ favorites are their new Nerf toys. John got two guns (one very large and one very small) and Laura got the Rebelle Heartbreaker Bow. She had been dreaming of this bow for a while. Laura was so excited that she really wanted us to just open it up instead of searching for Easter eggs.
After digging through their baskets, the kids were off to search for Easter eggs. This year, a different Easter Bunny visited our house and that bunny was tricky!
We were still finding eggs throughout the day… The kids had a great time looking for and then opening all the eggs. It was lots of candy and $5 for each of them.
We spent the rest of the day relaxing outdoors, doing laundry (it is still a Sunday), and eating a great Easter dinner. It will be early to bed, but it really was the perfect way to spend Easter.
