This is what misery looks like…
It all started with me vomiting at about midnight. By the morning, it had moved down for me. I struggled to get the kids ready for school and had to wake up Andy to request help. At about 10 am, Andy sent me a message to say that he was not feeling well and his stomach was bothering him and he was coming home from work. By the time he got home, it was obvious that he had this nasty thing too. Then, I got the dreaded call from the school. Laura had thrown up about 1:15 pm, so I dragged myself out of bed and went to pick her up. She vomited both outside the school and in the truck (yes, I thought ahead and grabbed a bowl before leaving the house). Lastly, John appeared at my side about 5:30 pm and said, “Mommy… My tummy hurts, hurts, hurts!” Sure enough, he vomited thirty minutes later. And so my night went… It was a very, very long 2 1/2 hours until Laura and John fell asleep about 8 pm. That gave me a chance to rest for a bit before the nightmare started again right about 10 pm. The second episode did not last nearly as long and both kids fell asleep at about 11:30 pm. Here is to hoping that tomorrow is a *much* better day…
