It was officially the first day of Winter Break for the kids, so we had the Creech family over to celebrate. It was a *loud* morning of play and fun around here! Reagan and Laura made bracelets and opened a jewelry stand while Wil and John ran around the house playing with every boy toy that wasn’t nailed down. Busy, busy, busy!
After a morning of complete chaos, we did a quick pick up of the house and then it was Christmas cookie time. The kids helped me roll out, cut, and bake the cookies. Of course, they did have an ulterior motive for helping. They love to decorate the frosted cookies and then eat the last one they decorate! This year, Laura and John picked out the Santa cookies and those are on their own plate in a special bag ready to be set out tomorrow night.
Once the cookies were done and Mom and Dad got to enjoy a glass (or two) of wine, we headed out to another Columbia Christmas tradition – The Magic Tree! As always, the tree was gorgeous!
Despite the cold, we managed to get some good pictures, including having Laura take a few of Andy and I. All these years of visiting the Magic Tree and we don’t have a single picture of the two of us together…
And, of course, we got pictures of the kids under the Magic Tree…
We ended our evening by taking a drive by the Candy Cane Crib. This is a relatively new addition to Columbia Christmas traditions, but you have to go. It is a fun site to see!
John fell asleep on the way home and both kids were so tired after a busy, busy day of fun that we put them to bed without baths. I think the start of Winter Break was a success.
