John got to go on his first school field trip to Peach Tree Farm today. As we did with Laura, Andy and I joined him on the adventure. Andy and I were the “Grown Ups” for John and Kingston, one of his classmates. Up first for our group was a hayride around the farm. It was a short hayride as Peach Tree Farm is not very big, but the kids thought it was pretty fun and neat.
John’s favorite part of the day was getting to go into one of the pumpkin patches and pick out his own pumpkin. Each kiddo got to go into a patch and find just the “right” pumpkin. Then, one of the adults would cut it off the vine for them. John was so excited because his pumpkin was “perfect!”
We spent the rest of the time visiting the farm animals and eating lunch. The kids also got some play time in. I particularly enjoyed watching John as he played inside the jail wagon. I even contemplated leaving him “in jail,” but I think I would miss my little man!
Despite the almost 90-degree heat, it was a fun time and it was great to see John have so much fun on his first school field trip!
