What a great, fun day! This year, we were part of a block party for Harold Court with the festivities starting at noon.
First up, was cotton candy and snow cones for the kids! John even asked if we could buy a cotton candy maker for home…
Then, it was water slide time. Now, *YES*, this *WAS* technically rented for all the kids on the street to enjoy themselves for four hours, but us adults had to join in on the fun too. I will just say that I think I went down this about 50 times. Fun, fun, fun! This is John taking a turn. Suffice it to say that he loved it!
Laura takes a turn. I think she loved it just as much as John. In fact, *ALL* the kids – young and old – enjoyed it!
After the water slide, came the Bounce House! Another favorite….
The scene at the block party was just fun all day. Lots of great conversations, great food, great drinks, and fun! Exactly as any 4th of July should be.
The kids started off the fireworks festivities by setting off smoke bombs. Do not worry… Adults were watching very closely!
Once, it got a little darker the usual fireworks in our neighborhood began. Fireworks going off everywhere… It’s quite a sight!
It turned out to be a bit of a shortened night for me because Laura declared at 10 pm that she needed to go home and go to bed. When that kid says she’s tired, you *KNOW* she’s tired. So, I packed up both kids and headed back down the street to our house. Andy stayed at the block party for a while longer and enjoyed more fireworks, as well as setting off some of our stash. It was just a great, fun way to celebrate our nation’s Independence Day! I wouldn’t have changed anything.
