Old Friends!

One of my “bestest” college friends and her husband came to visit us this weekend.  Carol and Shawn arrived late yesterday evening.  Carol and Shawn are going through a tough time right now and I was hoping this weekend would provide them both with a little peace of mind.  Give them a chance to relax, talk, and leave everything else at home.  This morning, Andy and Shawn drove to Bolivar, MO, to pick up a rifle that Andy won.  While the men were gone, Carol and I talked and then took the kids to lunch at Olive Garden.  We had a nice afternoon talking and listening and just picking up where we left off.  Sometimes, it’s all you need.  Carol and I don’t see each other very often, but we are both there for each other whenever we need it.  It’s what you do for friends.  It’s hard to believe that we have been friends for twenty years now…  Seems like just yesterday that I met her through our sorority.  Once the men returned to Columbia, we all talked some more, drank some wine, and ate some good food.  We spent the evening watching a movie and then headed to bed.  Daylight Savings Time, you know…  We all needed as much sleep as possible to deal with the time change!  🙂  All in all, it was a nice, relaxing day, which is something that we all needed.
