We had Laura’s second trimester Parent-Teacher-Student conference today after school. We had to reschedule due to snow days last week and then our New Orleans trip. We were happy to find that Laura is doing great! She’s meeting and usually exceeding nearly all of the First Grade expectations. She needs a little work on subtraction math facts, but it’s nothing to be overly concerned about because she knows her addition math facts. We will work with her a bit at home and she should be good to go by the end of the year. Also, we got to see some writing samples and it is amazing how far her writing has come in just a few month’s time. My main concern this trimester was if her regular schoolwork would be affected by her gifted program days. Mrs. Hanney put my mind at ease, saying that EEE has had no negative effect at all and that Laura’s transition from EEE to regular class on EEE days is easy and quick. Overall, it was a great conference. Laura is proud of herself and we are very proud of her too! She’s doing great!
