It was a busy day for all of us. Unfortunately, I woke up feeling awful with a sore throat and sinus pressure. Ibuprofen helped a bit, but I had no time for illness. We headed out about 10 am for Kid’s Workshop at Home Depot. January was “get rid of all the leftover projects” month, so the kids had their choice. Laura chose a bulletin board; John chose a helicopter. As always, the kids had a great time building. Both were concentrating very hard and being very careful while they hammered. John always rolls his tongue up as if it’s his upper lip.
Laura sticks her tongue out.
Both were very proud of their finished projects. John “flew” his helicopter all over Home Depot and Laura planned for painting her bulletin board. We will be adding paint (she’s still deciding on a color) and putting Girl Scout stickers on it. After a bit of shopping, we headed home for a quick lunch. Andy and I had tickets to the Mizzou vs. Bucknell game. Jenna and Brent arrived about 1:30 for “babysittering” and Andy and I headed for Mizzou Arena. We had a great time at the game despite my pounding head from the sinus pressure. I made sure to take a few pictures of the cheerleaders for Laura and I particularly enjoyed watching them bouncing Truman The Tiger around. It was a fun thing to watch.
It turned out to be a close game with Mizzou pulling out a win in the final seconds. Mizzou didn’t play their best, but they did enough to pull out the win. We arrived home about 6 pm. I made tacos for dinner and then we put the kids to bed. I headed to bed right away because I was feeling much worse and falling asleep on my feet. It was a fun, but very tiring day.
